The New Law for Vacation Rentals in Greece freezes

With a change made at the Greek Parliament the New Law for Vacation Rentals in Greece is postponed. Which means that the older version is in effect (the Law passed from Mrs. Olga Kefalogianni in November 2013). So this will mean that:

• There is a 92 night limit as to the number of nights a vacation rental can be booked
• There is no need for a badge from the Greek Board of Tourism
• There is no need to start a Business if the rental is booked for less than 92 nights.

The reason for the freeze is unknown, but it is speculated that the Government discovered the difficulty of applying control mechanisms in order to be able to regulate the Market.
